I downloaded Windows 10 iso and after imaging my Win 7 partition,
managed to get it installed from DVD.
It did have the drivers for the Intel networking that did not come with
Win 7 plus my printer also was picked up. I had to use a Vista driver to
get audio on USB speakers to work. The internal speakers worked but they
are too soft to be practical.
Personally, I like having shortcuts the most frequently used apps &
things like C & D on my desktop. It was not that easy to get them there
in Win 10. I know where my shortcuts are placed so they are easy to find.
I could not find a Computer option to just look at what is there. Not
sure it is even available. I finally found Control Panel.
Thunderbird with Lightning (calendar) installed and working. I used a
Mozbackup file to ease installation. It worked fine.
I wish MS would ask us if we want to login locally or using MS. That is
a pain. Since I was not going to leave it on my laptop, I did not seek
to change it.
That login detail might have complicated logging into Skype since I do
not use the MS login info there.
At this point, I will not be rushing to move to Win 10 myself.
