IFW and a Avast virus report

Post by bDerek »

I downloaded the various IFW v2.91 files on September 27, 2014 and on scanning them with AVAST v2014.9.0.2021 I am getting a virus reported "Win32:Malware-gen" in file UEI+mNrp.exe Also, saw the same reported virus in the tbiview.exe file. It may be a false positive, but would like it checked before proceeding. The individual files for IFD and IFL were clean. Thanks.

You can double check using one of the online virus scans as well.

I do remember that several years ago one TBI program was setting off my
AV program. I do not remember what AV I had then.

It was a false positive and I emailed them about it.

I have never, every had a positive or negative virus report from any
TBU software and I upgrade on *every* release. I have been with them
for years.

Used to be with Kaspersky (rubbish and awful support) now with ESET
great prog and great support. No free AV for me.

What is UEI+mNrp.exe ? that's not included with IFW. What is the MD5 or
SHA1 on imagew.exe and imagew64.exe you have? tbiview.exe as well?

I think I have the release version of IFW installed - the MD5 / SHA1 are:

68783591c6f9c50102ee3479f03044de / 7f398b036620e8321e8b3c123b50a5d376d6075c
imagew.exe

imagew64.exe

tbiview.exe

You can use virustotal to scan by a bunch of different utilities. Then
send to avast for review and correction of any false positive...
