Tried the Bootit BM trial

Post by rji1 »

I tried the Bootit BM trial software and tried to remove it correctly
and install my licensed BING on my Acer Aspire 64 bit notebook with windows 7.

BING appears to correctly install but when I reboot it
gives this message "Unable to find Bootit in EMBRM partition!" and stops there.

Basically I cannot access the installation except from a cd or diskette
and when I check the installation "Undo EMBRL" is greyed out.

Any Thoughts ??

could be several things, but just install, and once the system is back to
booting normally, reinstall. See
http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/kb/article.php?id=497 for uninstall (for
BIBM but concepts exactly the same for BING).

I have deleted all partitions and then tried to install BING with the same results.

Does the EMBR partition count as 1 of the 4 primaries if you choose to limit partitions to 4 ?

I looked at the embr partition before I deleted it had it had some files from BM and Bing.

Yes, the BIBM or Bing partition would be one of the 4 allowable primary partitions.
