win7, 64 bit, Image for windows.
I notice that there are checkboxes for various options, eg not image page file or hibernation file, close when finished, etc. Is there a setting somewhere for not imaging recycle bin or $recycle.bin . otherwise I have to remember to empty/delete them before imaging.
thanks.

Re: not image recycle bin
There's not a specific option to exclude the recycle bin folder. However, if you're using the command line you can use the "/exlist" parameter to exclude the folder.
Re: not image recycle bin
too bad that /exlist can't be added to the program folder shortcut.
also, would be a nice addition to program options.
does "/exlist" refer to both the regualr recycle bin and $recycle.bin ? If so, maybe I could write a batch file and create a shortcut to it.

Re: not image recycle bin
If you are running your backups from a batch file you can put a ccleaner line prior to the backup line.
Re: not image recycle bin
I normally run ccleaner before backups, but don't normally have ccleaner set to empty the recycle bins. I just tried it, and it "mostly" empties both recycler and $recycle.bin. I rarely, rarely, have retrieved file from recycle. so, i can consider letting ccleaner empty recycle on a regular basis.
of course, regularly emptying the recycle bin sort defeats the purpose of having it. an option to not image the recycle bin would be a better solution.

It would refer to whichever folders you put into the exclude file /exlist specifies.

Re: not image recycle bin
I think that setting up a exclusion file, writing the batch file, is more than i care to undertake. For now, I'll try to remember to empty the recycle bins before the imaging.
and hope that terabyte will add an option, in the list of options, to not copy the recycle bins.
thanks for giving me a few possibilities for dealing with the issue.

Re: not image recycle bin
+1 for adding the option to the GUI. Or even allowing the GUI to use an exclude.ini file.
I would like to add system restore information to the optional exclude list.

Re: not image recycle bin
I reduced the size of the recycle bins since Windows tends
to make them quite large with large drives.
