Sound more like you're backing up raw (all sectors) or an encrypted drive or you have something installed that interferes (purposely or poorly designed) with the proper operation of the program. As far as drive letters, Windows assigns those, we don't force any. There isn't an option to change them since disk management already has it. The script is to force changes outside of Windows or not allowed within Windows. Windows provides a simple API to change drive letters so that could be added very easily if users would find it useful.
Serial numbers show for me, they come from Windows as well.

I’ve been away from computer hardware/software for 15 years so it’s taking time to get through TBUs huge software collection bundle and accompanied PDFs. The manuals are extremely well written and thorough.
I do have some feature requests thus far.
Firstly, PartWork 2.05 is almost perfect and has a beautiful GUI.
As I mentioned before, I’d like to see one obvious feature that is missing, and that’s being able to change a drive letter within PartWork.
I know there is Windows Disk Management, but thinking about newbie’s I see it making sense having this feature encapsulated within PartWork. I don’t get why it would be necessary to go outside of PartWork to do something which you would think PartWork should do. It's the main partitioning application of TBU software.
If there is a reason, say for example, PartWork can not change a drive letter because the drive is locked and no matter what you do it remains locked, only to find that Windows Disk Management also can not change the drive letter for the same reason; why not be able to make the change for a drive letter(s), and apply with an immediate reboot or ‘I’II reboot/restart later’.
PartWork is elegant but one feature that would be handy is to be able to wipe unused sectors.

To elaborate:
Besides being able to erase/wipe unused sectors (free space) using the PartWork's Wipe Disk (specifying how many times choosing the algorithm) an extra security feature would be to be able to erase the unused slack at the end of files (where possible).

You can also use setwindl.tbs to manage drive letters.

I've completed and understand PartWork.
I'm part way through IFW manual and have a good idea of IFW in testing, but still need to fill in some holes in knowledge. That will come with finishing the IFW manual and testing IFW to the end.
In parallel, reading the PDF manual for IFD, IFL and IFU and testing each. This will take time.
In parallel, reading the PDF manual for OSD Tool Suite Pro.
I'm still a bit stuck with incremental/differential backups with IFW and the different ways to use hash files in various steps of each backup or restore etc.
So, with that being said, where is setwindl.tbs?
TBU software is a very comprehensive and thorough set of programs with equally thorough PDF manuals. It’s been fun so far but I've been away from computer hardware/software for 15 years and I learn this as a hobby to understand and help others.
I’m going to get as far as I can with IFW, and then when I think I have read and understand as much as I can while still being stuck, I’II post some questions of help. And then move on to the next...

With a default install it is in...
C:\Program Files (x86)\TeraByte Drive Image Backup and Restore Suite\TeraByte OSD Tool Suite Pro\scripts
Probably the easiest way to run it is...
Open IFW, Utilities, Ready to Run Scripts, TeraByte - Assign Drive Letters for Windows 2.31
Choose your Windows OS. If you are multi-booting, each OS will be listed.
Choose Continue
Select the partition whose Drive Letter you want to change
Choose a new Drive Letter
If it's not an OS partition, I select Don't change any reference of "X:" (X: being the drive letter you plan to change)
Reboot
