Hi,
Wake-on-lan used to work on my Dell Precision laptop (running Windows 10)... I am not sure exactly when it stopped working, but I have been trying to get it working again and so far failed.
I found this Dell support page: https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-u ... S-settings
and it is saying to turn on Fast startup, but FYI, I have fast startup disabled because about the warnings about corrupting the system.
FYI, when I shutdown the laptop, the lights on the network connector on the laptop ARE turned on (they are blinking amber-colored)....
I also tested with a WOL sniffer running on the Dell, and when I do a Wake command, I can see data appearing in the sniffer, so I am pretty sure that the WOL packet is getting to the Dell.
Does anyone have any ideas what I can try to get the WOL working again? I normally leave the laptop turned off but connected to a KVM and power it up when I need something off of it, but without the WOL working, it is kind of a pain to get it working (It's in a stand, behind my monitor).
Is it possible that I NEED to have fast startup enabled, and if so, how can I do that (I don't see it in BIBM in partition work).
Thanks,
Jim
