SSD Are Special Settings needed for over-provisioning?

Post by engineerguy3809 »

Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit
I did some searching on the site and was unable to find this addressed previously. If it has, I apologize for being redundant.
Been using IFW for 10+ years with traditional Hard Drives but I recently upgraded to SSD Drive for OS use.
My concerns/questions are:
Do I need to do any special settings within IFW or be concerned about the space the SSD allows for over-provisioning or is that simply controlled by firmware on the actual SSD? I'm aware the over-provisioning space is reserved on the device for that function and if I increase the OP space it will decrease the overall drive capacity. What I'm asking is do the basic IFW functions of imaging and restoring remain the same as I'm familiar with or is there something different I need to account for because of having an SSD?
