you can check out the /po option as well as the /iobs option to see if they help at all.

PART2: OK, so this is getting weirder. So I booted to my Linux install and reformatted the allegedly bad drive back to ExFat and restored an image to the drive in Linux from the original Windows-made image that was stored on an NTFS formatted SSD drive. As a precautionary measure I also had IFL verify the operation. Lo and behold, the previously erratic SD drive works just fine. Again, I think it's something I hacked or disabled in Windows like Windows Update and/or Windows Defender that's causing these issues. Sorry for carrying on so long in this thread. Just wanted to give you an update.
