Newbie Questions

Post by jgkurz »

I would like to deploy BootIt so I can use two unique Windows 11 systems on the same hardware. This prompts a couple questions.

1) Can I use BootIt to boot OS's each from a different physical drive or do all OS's need be on the same drive?

2) Can a Windows OS environment "A" under BootIt be booted from a USB drive or CD without affecting Windows OS environment "B"?

Thank you!

jgkurz,

I assume you intend to use BootIt UEFI. Not BootIt BM.

Bootit will not boot Windows partitions on USB media or Windows on optical media. The OS must be on internal drives.

BootIt will boot as many Win11 as you like. On the same or on multiple internal drives.

If you want to make multiple copies of a Win11 OS, it's easy. Just a few clicks.

What I meant to ask is can I boot one of the partitions from a USB drive? I use Acronis for data protection. If I ever need to do a bare metal restore I will need to boot from a Acronis USB. Is this possible?

Booting an Acronis UFD will be possible. BootIt won't interfere with Acronis.
