MakeDisk: plase allow to recreate the same image once more

Post by schittli »

Good afternoon

Almost always if MakeDisk gets active, we have to start it a second time by hand, because we almost always create two things:
1) We save the ISO-File to have a Backup
2) We create the USB stick

Therefore, it would be very useful if MakeDisk would offer something like a restart command at the end and not just the Close button.

Thanks a lot,
kind regards,
Thomas

The original version worked that way but for making more user friendly
it just closes. Maybe someday we can hide a button to restart somewhere
for others.

@schittli, I support your suggestion!

Even better, TeraByte could improve the Makedisk UI so that all configuration information required is visible at once, in a single window. Every setting should be saved and restored between runs. There is no need to go page by page through the tiny interface. We're not running it on a phone, after all....

@schittli & @timg11,

After multiple passes through all those tiny config screens, I realized that I could copy the resulting ifu.ini file from the new drive and copy it into my makedisk.exe folder and it would suck in all those settings for the next pass. It still requires some selections to be made, but this might save you some time.

Thanks a lot for this hint!,
unfortunately, it's the reason why we never use Terabyte Products for End users.
They're great for technical users, but feel annoying for non technical users... it would be great if the tools just remember settings and can easily e.g restarted.

From double clicking makedisk.exe (TBWinRE) to the start of writing to the UFD takes 8 seconds. Am I doing something different?

From double clicking makedisk.exe (TBWinRE) to the start of writing an ISO takes 15 seconds.
