Presale question

Post by JoRene41 »

I am considering purchasing the bundle that includes IFW along with the Bootit collection. Can IFW boot on a uefi system like the Bootit uefi? Creating an image with IFW would be useless if I couldn’t boot from a flash drive to do a restore, Or can I restore a IFW image using the Bootit uefi program? Can I do backups just using the Bootit UEFI flash drive program without needing he IFW program?

I have a new laptop from Dell and the bios program is hard to navigate and I am reluctant to make any changes to try to boot from legacy devices, so want to be able to boot without going into my bios.

Thank you.

Good choice.

Yes. From TBWinRE/PE

You can restore a TeraByte image using IFW, IFL or IFU. Each app creates an image the other apps can restore.

Yes. But using IFW is more convenient and faster.

Does this help? See the section on UEFI BIOS

I read the instructions for creating the boot drive for IFW (TBWinRE/ PE) and it seems quite complicated. After creating the Image using IFW, could I just boot with the Bootit UEFI flash drive to restore...or doesn’t it do restores? Creating the boot flash drive for Bootit was easy and didn’t require downloading a bunch of other software. Why is the IFW bootable drive so much harder?

Sure, no problem.

After installing IFW, you just run TBWinPE/RE Builder and follow the steps for TBWinRE. It doesn't require downloading anything additional. (If you want to create the TBWinPE boot media then you would need to download the ADK.)

The basic steps are in this tutorial:
