Hi
I use IFW and when it is started I open the SETTINGS button. I use most of the default settings but would like to know a bit more clearly about the CD Boot Image.
Image for DOS has default setting and what I have been using.
Though my laptop did not want to Restore an image with IFD so I used IFL and it worked ok.
What does the CD Boot Image relate to?
Is it saying the Image is made to use with Image for DOS when Restoring??
Or...
Thanks for any help.

Are you backing up to optical media?

Booting from CD/DVD backups if you want.

Re: CD Boot Image
IFL does have more options than IFD.
I have found that IFL will recognize more different SD card
readers where IFD does not see them.
IFL could see the built-in card reader on my old computer
and does not see it on my new Acer. Since that reader is
hard to access I am not too sorry.
The Rosewill USB 3.0 reader that Newegg.com sells can boot
SD cards with IFL on them on my computer.
It won't boot SD cards with an IFW/IFD image on them.

Re: CD Boot Image
Brian.
I make the image onto a Hard Drive. And use Linux CD to restore image.
Should the other option (Linux) for CD Boot image be used?
I have used restore with the lLnux with the DOS seeing in the Image before and it worked. So I just can not see the point of the setting in IFW Setup..Restore

That setting (CD Boot Image) in IFW only applies when you save an image
to an optical drive (CD/DVD), which creates a bootable restore disc with
the image on it.
So if you're saving your images to a hard drive, then the CD Boot Image
setting won't have any effect on that, and you can use any of the Image
programs to restore it.
As far as the CD Boot Image setting in IFW: If you choose the DOS
option, the bootable restore disc you create will boot up to IFD. If you
choose Linux, the restore disc will boot up into IFL. The choice you
make depends only on your preference, and/or which one works best for you.

Re: CD Boot Image
Thank you for the explain on CD Boot Image. That makes it clear what I am doing.
