IfL 3.17 TBI file date is MM/DD/YYYY format

Post by SuffolkPunch »

HI,

I'm booting IfL v 3.17 GUI from a cd.

In the backup screen where you "Enter a filename for the backup", previously created TBI image files have creation dates in MM/DD/YYY format.

Is there a way to change that to DD/MM/YYY format?

Hi SuffolkPunch, Sorry I can't help with your question, but I am having problems with IFL 3.17 too. I used makedisk to create CDs with three different versions of IFL 3.17(GUI, CUI, no net etc) and I can't even create a .tbi file with this latest update. I now get completely different options from previous 3.16 which still works perfectly well.

You should perhaps post your question as a *new* post with appropriate subject line?

You can use the "FileTemplate" INI file option (--filetpl from the command line) to change the filename template used. This option goes in the [BACKUP_DEFAULTS] section of the ifl.ini file. For example:

[BACKUP_DEFAULTS]
FileTemplate=Custom Name $~DD$-$~MM$-$~YYYY$

Thanks, that worked. Choosing the Traditional mode instead of Simple made the difference. It was so long since I had to change anything.

Thanks Paul. But does that actually change the format of the creation/modification date of the listed folders and files? Or does it just change the offered filename template? I want the former if possible?

It would just change the filename template. There is an option to change the listings to use the YYYY-MM-DD (ISO8601) format, but I don't see one for customizing it otherwise.

Thanks. Here's how in case it helps someone else:
1. Run makedisk.exe (in Windows 7)
2. Select ‘Traditional – You have control over options (Custom)’
3. In the 'Additional ifl.ini options' screen enter ‘ISO8601=1’
