Jack,
The above link mentions...
"If you are using Windows on the system, after switching to AHCI mode and using Image for Linux you will need to reset the SATA controller mode to RAID before attempting to boot back into Windows. Otherwise, Windows will likely error on boot-up due to the mode not matching the installed driver. If you wish to switch Windows to AHCI mode drivers you can use the TBOSDT OSDTOOL script to install them (drivers can usually be downloaded from the system manufacturer if not included with Windows)."

Thanks again, Brian.

Jack,
Has the XPS arrived? I'm interested to hear if it has the same issues we experienced.

Hi Brian,
Sorry it's taken so long to get back to you. I haven't checked in on this forum for a while. I've been dragging my feet on the new XPS so it hasn't been ordered yet. Instead, I've been spending my time trying to upgrade my existing XPS laptop from Windows Vista OS to Windows 7. If I can get all the files transferred over and install all the programs I use most often, it might buy me a little time before I have to buy a new computer. At least that's what I'm hoping. As of now, everything is working fine. If for some reason I become dissatisfied, I'll place my order and we can swap stories then.
