PartWork for UEFI
Re: PartWork for UEFI
Thank you for getting my access fixed... Here is the result of my Partwork test. (answers in upper case)
Does it start or give a message?
MESSAGE: BOOTITBM.DAT IS MISSING
If message is about BOOTITBM.DAT missing, moving it does copying it from
\efi\boot to \ correct it?
NO, NEW MESSAGE: UNABLE TO OPEN BOOTITBM.DAT
(also tried moving it to \efi and that did not work either
also tried leaving it in all 3 locations did not work either)
You can email support to report it or in the forums. Be sure to include
your system make/model and if possible UEFI BIOS version.
SYSTEM: AsRock Z97-Extreme6 BIOS: 2.70
Is there anything else that you would like me to try

Re: PartWork for UEFI
Here is another system result
Lenovo Flex 4-1580 bios 2.05 WORKS PERFECTLY
Does it start or give a message?
If message is about BOOTITBM.DAT missing, moving it does copying it from
\efi\boot to \ correct it?
WORKED PERFECTLY no message .dat file in boot and nowhere else
Does the GUI look correct or black screen?
LOOKS GREAT
Does the TRIM option come available on SSD drives attached to ATA or SATA?
Related, does the hardware wipe option show under wipe drive if the drive
supports secure wipe?
TRIM WORKS (I think)
WIPE OPTON Exists but did not try
(we find most systems UEFI do not support what is required for either one to
work thru ATA)
Does the mouse cursor show, if so does moving it work?
WORKS GREAT -
(we find mixed on if mouse support is actually properly implemented through
the system UEFI)

Re: PartWork for UEFI
I really like PartWork for UEFI. I've installed it to HD1 (which is a GPT disk) and boot it from the "BIOS" boot menu. It can also be booted from EasyUEFI.
The mouse doesn't work but the keyboard shortcuts are fine.

Re: PartWork for UEFI
I just tried a PS2 mouse and it works fine. The USB keyboard and PS2 mouse are functional. A USB mouse doesn't work.

Re: PartWork for UEFI
the latest version adds support for up to two mice, so if it was mapping a
nonexistent mouse on ps/2 as first and usb second, then this would pick it
up, if not, it still won't work.

Re: PartWork for UEFI
added a work around in latest version for startup that may allow at least c:
to be available (where it would look for bootitbm.dat) for systems that
can't handle dynamic unmounting/mounting of its file system support.

New Partwork works perfectly, (unlike last time).
The only thing that I did not test was the wipe
