Format of timestamps in IFW log

Post by Bob Coleman »

The format of timestamps in my IFW log used to be yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss. Sometime during the usage of 299-00 (not coincident with the installation of 299-00) the format changed to m/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss xM (and is still that way in V3). Any idea what would have caused this?

Bob,

My V2 and V3 IFW.LOG format is yyyy-mmm-dd hh:mm:ss

These are my formats in Region (Control Panel)

My date setting do not mirror my region settings annoyingly, which are
set for the UK format.

DrT,

If I change my Short Date in Region the ifw.log changes to match the Short Date settings. What Date settings do you have in Region and the ifw.log?

Thanks. I've figured it out. I didn't think it was the settings in Region because I was seeing yyy-mm-dd pretty much everywhere else, but your post pushed me to experiment and think.

Currently, I run IFW from my standard account. I get a UAC prompt and enter the password of an administrator account. It turns out that the log entries match the Region settings for the administrator account which were different from those of my standard account.

I originally said that the format changed sometime within the period of my usage of IFW 299-00. I have no proof, but now little doubt, that the change happened at the same time that I added the administrator account in question.

Sorry, must have had a senior moment - all is working as expected.
Short date format and date in log matches.
