Unable to determine source drive. 0 possible devices f RC=8

Post by tas3086 »

My automated incremental backup restarts on RC=8 errors, and attempts a full backup. Recently there have been a large number of this pattern of error:
- IFW starts incremental settings and immediately ends with RC8
- IFW starts on same drive with full backup settings and completes normally

Notice in the log below, that IFW does not even get to the place where it writes "[2015-08-15 03:02:44 AM] Image for Windows 2.97d" to the log.
Happens very frequently with introduction of 2.97d
(the stuff that IFW writes to the log is immediately after the "--------------------------------------------------------------------------" line)

Any ideas?

you can increate the log level to say 50, or 100, then their will be
additional information why it couldn't find the source drive. (either
because drive wasn't read, partitions changed boundary, drive size change,
drive signature changed).
