Windows updates

I decided to do a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium on a new laptop.
I keep having problems with Update breaking after some updates are
installed.
So far, the program Microsoft has to fix problems has been working and I
am concerned that MS updates seem to be what is breaking it.
Any suggestions?
Mary

Hello Mary.
Seems to me if the MS updates aren't working properly for you, the install did not go right.
I would do a Repair Install using your install CD and see where that gets you.

Bernard,
I did run a boot repair since that was all I could find in the way of
repairs.
I suspect you are correct. I am putting off going to an earlier image
with fewer programs and restoring that image. It pretty much only has
Windows 7 Home Premium x64, activated.t
It is weird.
When I rebooted the next morning, things were working better than when I
shut down the night before.
Thanks

Just proof, if any more were needed, that Windows is a work of the
