Thunderbird 17.0.5 & HTML images

I recently installed Thunderbird 17.0.5. Pretty much ALL
HTML pages stopped displaying at all with only place
markers. Once you add the email address to Contacts, HTML
images should be displayed and were in Thunderbird 17.0.4.

I used MozBackup to image the current 17.0.5 emails.

To do the restore with MozBackup most effectively,
references to Thunderbird under Users/name.../AppData/ -
both Local & Roaming need to be deleted. Otherwise, I have
had TB come up with email address accounts I haven't used
for years.

I rebooted after uninstalling TB 17.0.5 and deleting the above.

I reinstalled Thunderbird 17.0.4 again. It is necessary to
open the program before doing the restore. Don't try to set
anything up in Accounts yet. Now, close TB and use Mozbackup
to restore immediately.

Restoring using MozBackup allowed me to use Thunderbird
17.0.4 once again. Now HTML images are displaying correctly.

The HTML images did not show up after I rebooted and started
Windows again later.

I cannot help but wonder if lack of images was started with
one of the MS April updates.

Has anyone experienced this as well when images were showing
earlier?

I removed ALL of the MS April Security updates for Windows
only (not MS Office) and now the images are showing again.

May try reinstalling one at a time to see if images stop
showing again.

I am using TB 14.0, and always keep my MS updates up to date,
and never had any 'known' issues due to MS updates
