What are the advantages of using this over something like Disk2vhd?

We had the technology and documented how to do it a long time before MS
created its copy. Know nothing about theirs, but copyp2v uses terabyte
technology (not MS), takes care of clearing old drivers, changing hal,
installing standard drivers needed to boot on virtual pc's, supports vmware,
adjusts vhd files/partitions to work on virtualpc, etc..

Quite a comprehensive answer; thanks a lot!

One thing that's been irking me. I've been trying to create a vhd file using the instructions on the latest video, but keep encountering the following error right at the last step. The drive I'm trying to store the vhd on has over 800GB free so I'm at a loss as to why it's happening.

The reasons for failure did not apply to the way I was doing things.
TBH, other than a technical exercise, this seems to be more trouble
than it is worth. Even using a VHD from MSoft did not go smoothly,
probably as VPC 2007 SP1 is outdated.

Will probably try again using a format more compatible with
VirtualBox.

Had to do a little tweaking to get the image to boot (created image
third one down on list) and then got the autochk error and the same
BSOD as before. The image I created today was also Win XP, but from a
different machine that gave the same errors as yesterday. Images of 32
bit OSs run on 32 bit hosts.

What options are you choosing?

Apart from choosing the destination and name of the vhd, I'm leaving all options as default.

It may be that the script doesn't size it large then reduce it, but only
tries to fit. For now, you may have to let it create a big vhd hd, then
reduce the partition to 128G afterwards, I'll make a note to have someone
modify the script to take care of that automatically.
