IFD: Restoration issues

Post by Synitare »

I've been trying to figure this out for about a week now, and it's driving me insane. The issue is this; I run IFD from an external USB hard drive and create an image of an internal SATA drive that gets burned to a CD or DVD. After the image is created, attempting to let the DVD run the restore without using the menu interface does not work, and gives the error "Target device not found. Exiting program with error code 17." The goal is to be able to create an image without the use of a floppy disk that can be restored with minimal user interaction. Any help would be appreciated.

It defaults back to the drive number that was backed up. So you probably
backed up drive 1 (second drive) and it's looking to restore it there. You
could boot a CD/DVD and then image to the CD/DVD and the drive number will
stay the same.

(you could also customize the tbos.str in the cdboot.f35 file to restore
specifically to drive 0 as well). Pull out the file using tbosdt, modify,
copy back. in tbosdt, the command you'd want to look at is "mount" and
"copy"
