upgrades for ifw questions

Post by zfactor »

i know they say minor updates are free .. i see its up to 2.70 now does this mean once it hits 3.0 i will have to buy it all over again? in the version history 2.0 is a few years old my issue is how long will it be before it hits 3.0? for some people that bought it at say 2.2 they have had years of free updates and im afraid if i buy 2 or 3 lic's i will get less than a year or so? any thoughts on this from you guys? i had this happen with another company where i bought the current one and less than 6 months later i got nailed when they updated to the next version so for 150$ for 3 lic's i got less than 6 months of use then they want almost 100$ to upgrade.

how does this work with ifw i LOVE THE program just dont want to have that type of issue again. will there be a upgrade option and if so how much discount would there be approx??

i do own 2 lic's now and need 3 more this is why i am asking about this.

thanks

It doesn't mean .99 would go to 3.0 .. could go to 2.100 or we could move to
V3 prior to .99, but in general don't think about when someone else may have
purchased; we typically have a certain period of time for a free upgrade
and a discount (typically 50%) for others outside that period. I wouldn't
worry about when the next major update was going to come out.

I just want to reiterate what TBU said as an independent and happy end
user. Some programmers say that minor upgrades will be free, snare the
users and then only issue major upgrades!

You will not feel ripped-off in TBU's stable. You will get a warm
feeling supporting a brilliant product and dev team with excellent
tech support.

I totally agree with DrT.

I bought bootitng several years ago and received many free updates.
When bootitbm came out, I bought the version that includes IFW and TBOSDT ...
but i only use bootitbm. I just figured they deserved the few extra dollars.
Great products and support.
