IFW Migrating 2 of 3 partitions to new SSD

Post by engineerguy3809 »

IFW 3.42
Windows 10 20H2
My existing main drive consists of multiple partitions; System Reserved Recovery Partition, Main Windows OS Partition, and Data Partition (My Documents, pictures, etc.) I usually image and restore the entire drive on each backup session and am familiar with that. However, I wish to migrate the System Recovery Reserved Partition and Main Windows OS Partition to a new SSD and then re-use the entire old drive for my Data Partition. Is there a guide I've missed in the Knowledge Base or in the Forum for a similar operation? If not, can someone assist with a few steps to take?

It's more of a job for partwork (BootIt) than imaging, but you could backup the ones to move in one backup the other in another, delete everything so no partitions, restore all of the others at the same time using the "remove gaps" option. A partial restore can be used like a full restore when the target is blank.
