Can I set boot option ISO8601=1 in TBWinRE?

Post by SuffolkPunch »

Hello,

I've created a bootable USB stick with TBWinRE from 'TeraByte Drive Image Backup and Restore Suite\TBWinRE'.

On booting my PC from it, it looks like the date format on files and folders is US - e.g. 30 Nov 2020 has date '11-30-2020'. I'd like it to show DD-MM-YYYY instead. I could do that when creating an IfL boot disk by setting boot option ISO8601=1 when running makedisk.exe. Can I do that when creating the TBWinRE USB stick?

SuffolkPunch,

I use ISO8601=1 in my TBWinRE (ifw.ini) and the date format is MM/DD/YYYY
I hadn't noticed that before.

In IFL it is YYYY-MM-DD

Don't think that option is supported in IFW.

However, you can specify the date format when creating the TBWinRE boot media by using the BuildScript.

1. Start TBWinPE/RE Builder.

2. Go into Settings (from the Welcome screen, click Next and then Settings; or use the File menu Settings option).

3. Click on the "Scripts" tab.

4. Enable the "Use BuildScript.cmd" option. An "Edit" link will show when enabled. Click the "Edit" link to open the script in Notepad.

5. At the end of the file, put the following line. This will change the registry setting for the short date format.

reg add "HKLM\%TBWINPE_Reg_DEFAULT%\Control Panel\International" /v sShortDate /t REG_SZ /d "dd-MM-yyyy" /f

6. Save the file and close Notepad.

7. Click OK to save and close Settings.

8. Create TBWinRE boot media.

Thanks Paul, much appreciated.

BTW - can the IfL boot disk display file dates in yyyy-MM-dd format? Or does the boot option ISO8601=1 just give one dd-MM-yyyy format?

When I generate IFL boot media, I specify "ISO8601=1" as an additional IFL ini option (or something like that). IFL shows file dates in YYYY-MM-DD format.

I thought ISO8601 only has one format. What Bob said.
