Need some help writing image to DVD drive

Post by Mykro »

Hello,

I made a boot up DVD disk using IFD 3.38 gui, and booted up the computer using the disk.. But I did not see any backup destination option to burn the image to my DVD drive. Did I miss something...?

Thanks Michael

Michael, are you trying to write the image to the same DVD?

Brian,

No... The first time I backed up was to another internal drive only because there was no option to backup to my DVD drive..

On the Select File Access Method screen, do you have File (CD/DVD)

Brian,

I've uploaded two pics (cell phone).. One is showing the drive to backup, and the other pic shows by default where IFD is backing too.. It dosen't give me the choice to choose to backup to my DVD drive.

Michael, remove the tick from Simple Operations Mode. Then you will see your DVD.

Brian,

That worked.. See attached photo... Except when I clicked on "Next" a Warning window popped up (as you can see in the image)... When I clicked "OK" the box disappeared, and then the program becomes unresponsive and I then remove the DVD from the drive and re-boot the computer...
You would think that there would be a different window telling me to remove the boot disk from the drive, and then prompt me to put in a blank DVD to begin burning the first DVD..... :?:

Try this. Boot into IFD and then remove the boot disk as it's not needed anymore. Now try the backup.

Hello Brian,

That worked... Except the next window that came up said that it was "Gathering Information" Which lasted for over 10 minutes, I thought the program had become unresponsive, but it wasn't... The next window asked me to insert a blank DVD for Vol. 1. The very next window (see attached image) did become unresponsive. I let it go for over an hour to see what would happened and there was no response from the program, so I removed the blank DVD and re-booted back into windows 10.
I don't know what to do anymore, this shouldn't be so hard to do... It seems to me there needs to be more work done on the program.. For now I can't use this program.

Michael, no success yet but you are getting close. I suggest trying IFL GUI as it could work better with your optical drive. Maybe.
