Image for DOS 2.99 doesn't work on HP Elitebook 8540p

If I attempt to copy the system drive (100GB SSD) to a usb HDD (1TB) the process starts but invariably stops with message: "Unable to write to device".

The operation also fails copying one drive (HDD 1TB, 3 partitions) to another (usb 1TB)

It all works fine if, instead of IfD I use CopyWipe.

I have also been unable to use BootIt BM on the EliteBook but BootIt NG worked fine. [ HP EliteBook 8540p: CPU: i7, 8GB Ram, Win 10 Enterpr. ]

I would be happy to use a legacy version of IfD but they are not available (?). Any comment or advice would be appreciated.

Version 2.x hasn't been supported for a few years. Also you may want to
look at Image for Linux.

For BIBM, you can try a different video mode if that is the issue, BING
used 256 color by default, BIBM uses 64K color mode.

Thank you for your quick reply. I guess I'll have to move to other backup software.
Best Wishes for 2020 :)
