Error message: "A required device isn't connected or can't be accessed error code: 0xc0000185."
This occurs when I'm trying to boot from my TeraByte backup CD into DOS mode.
This occurs on both of my laptops. Booting directly into Windows 10 is not a problem.
They both have been recently upgraded from HDD to SSD drives and I suspect that is the problem
as this did not occur with the HHD drives. The problem occurs when I've plugged in an external USB drive
or without plugging one in.
I think I need to make a new UEFI boot CD, I'm, using TeraByte version 3.16.

Does this occur with the latest version? 3.34

Does it happen if you use a USB flash drive instead of a CD?

Looks like a windows error code, like it's booting windows in some way.
You won't get that from IFD boot CD itself.

My current CD is a TBWinRE/PE CD that I created 18 months ago may account for what looks like a window error code. It could possibly be outdated.

I would prefer to boot from a USB flash drive but I don't know how to create one.

"DOS Mode"? I think you mean "BIOS Mode" or "CSM Mode" or "Legacy Mode".

For Windows to boot, it and the BIOS have to get along.

Same way you create the CD, just choose the UFD.
