How to image an encrypted windows 10 system partition?

Post by SuffolkPunch »

I have a laptop running Windows 10 Home Edition - so bitlocker isn't available. But it does support 'Device Encryption' - see https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/hel ... encryption .

Can Image for Windows be used to image and restore the windows 10 system partition thus encrypted?

If device encrypt means the built-in hd encryption, then yes, once
unlocked it appears as a normal hard drive to everything else.

There is another level that has more control. But the items windows
access should appear unencrypted. Use the "information" button on
partitions to see what it says (free / used space means it was able to
access the data unencrypted).
