What about [Use Metadata Hash Files]? Should I enable it? Does it decrease backup time significantly ?

Personally I have never used it as the following note in the manual has
made me very cautious as I don’t understand what impact it may have. I also
prefer to use PHYLock rather than VSS for locking.

From the manual:-
“ NOTE: You should only use this option if you understand its impact on
backup and restore operations. “

According the manual:
Due to this type of restore depending on the destination partition’s file system metadata being valid, you would use it for undoing changes and not for recovering from file system corruption (a normal restore should be used in that case).
I think this option ignores the restoring of File System and in case of corruption of File System, after restore you may have problem with the drive.
But I don't know if you can use this option for backup and disable it when restoring (restore from an image with this option Enabled) or not?Because in this way you have saved time when imaging and can restore File System by disabling it when you need to recover File System to fix problems.
Another question: If I disable [Exclude Files To Not Backup] and [Exclude Files To Not Snapshot],will the image be as using PHYLock ?،(I mean the content)Because PHYLock does not apply VSS Exclude List from registry. And I don't have any experience with restoring from an image that includes [hiberfil.sys] , [pagefile.sys] , [System Volume Information Folders] ,[System Restore Points] and other stuff in VSS Exclude List,So I want to know by including these items ,Won't be any problem in restoring System Partition (Windows Installed Volume] and booting from it??

I'll let Terabyte answer your questions...

As for me, I want my backups to be usable to recover from any problem that
might occur, including having to replace a disk, so I won't be using the
'Use Metadata Hash Files' option.

Problem with Version 3.22:
After installing version 3.22 when creating image of a partition the Total Bytes to process is equal to Total Partition Capacity even using VSS and enabling [Read From Volume] and disabling
[Backup Unused Sectors].
In version 3.06 Total Bytes to process was the same as Used Space of drive.(Tested on 2 laptops).
A bug or wrong settings???
