Hi,

Is it possible to switch IFW to file-by-file mode? In sector-by-sector differential backups are huge (as full backups) because HDD defrag working in background. I hope, that file mode will be more sensible solution in differential - files not change very often. I dont care about pure 100% picture of HDD, I care only about files.

do full defrag prior to the next full backup. it would only make it much
larger if it moves a bunch of stuff already defragged around which isn't as
common nowadays.

So it is not possible to switch file-by-file mode? Full defrag is not solution at all - defrag run as service and always something automatically optymalize in background.

it's not file based, file based is normal old fashion backup of which there
are many, including built-in. The built-in defragging doesn't cause much
as it mainly defrags files and only if it had to move very large files would
it add up to much.

It also defrags during disk-idle moments too so should not be a
problem. The built in defragger only works every 3-7 days (depends on
windows version) to rearrange the boot and recently-used application
files only. To do a full defrag, you need to run that yourself.

Diskeeper creates a disaster when used in association with imaging apps.

run it once a week, or right before whenever you create the full versions.
