Cannot Increase Phylock Disk Cache Size

Post by VanBuran »

I am getting the message to increase Disk Cache size when trying to make an image in Windows. I have tried to increase the Cache size but it reverts to 4095MiB. It seems it does not accept any changes to increase the cache size. I downloaded and installed the the latest Phylock which didn't help.

Thanks for the information. I found what I think problem is. I recently upgrade my CPU cooler to a Corsair water cooling system and the Link software that controls the fans etc. runs in the background. After disabling the software I could Image without a problem.

Funnily enough, I have also been having similar problems that I found
were down to a Corsair driver for my keyboard. The v2 drivers do not
cause any problems, but the v3 ones stop Image getting a lock on the
drive complaining of disk writes.

More detail can be supplied if requested.

DrT,

How did you track down that driver issue?

The issue only started a few weeks ago, so I worked backwards from all
the things that Procmon was throwing up. I checked after unloading
each item (including services) and backup worked normally after
closing the Corsair service.

Many running services seem to interrupt imagew64.exe. I use the x64
version as it is more reliable backing up over a network.

I see, using AIDA64 System Stability Test graph, the Link4 software uses up to 12% of CPU while at idle as the attachments show.
