How to Backup from NAS

Post by carlmm »

I am on Windows 7 64x, with version 3.05 of IfW. I have one NAS and am trying to backup from it to a normal HD.
The frustrating thing is I did this successfully, with exact same NAS and other drives, 6 months ago. But I didn't document how I did it. The logfile has this line:
imagew64.exe /b /d:w2@0x1 /f:"F:\NAS Everything" /desc:"Full b/u of entire NAS HD"
but when I try that I get
Device not found
Parameter: /d:w2@0x1
The NAS is mapped to G: and when I run
imagew64.exe /l /d:?G: > filename.txt
I get
Unable to find the desired partition entry
Parameter: /d:?G:
When I run
imagew64.exe /l /all > filename.txt
it lists all my HDs, but not the NAS.
I have tried disconnecting and remapping the NAS to G:, but it still doesn't work.

The drive needs to be connected as a local drive to be a valid backup source.

Thank you. Is there a way to make the NAS (WD My Cloud EX2) look local to the OS?

Doesn't look like it (only has an Ethernet connection).
