how to access a tbi file via linux?

Post by SimonHF »

I successfully created a USB boot disk for Linux Drive Image and backed up the main Linux Ext4 SSD drive.

Once booted back into Linux I can access the tbi file via the tbivew utility.

Issue #1: The home folder is encrypted using ecryptfs. How can browse the files in the home folder? Is there a way to give the password to tbiview somehow?

Issue #2: I noticed for Windows there is a utility called tbimount. What is the equivalent for Linux? How can I mount the tbi file and use the mount via the command line to e.g. grep the files?

What are the best practices for using Linux Drive Image to backup Linux drives which are fully or partially encrypted?

Thanks!
