Recycle bin shared?

I'm multi-booting two W7 installs. Although each OS partition is invisible to the other, things thrown in Recycle Bin in one show in both.

Could this be due to my imaging partition 2 to 1 and not checking a needed box?

it shows items from all drives.

do you have them "completely" hidden?

are these files on a different shared drive?

are you using mbr/embr or gpt?

How do I completely hide them?

The OS's are on the same internal drive, different partitions.

embr on OS drive, mbr on data drive, second internal drive.

UPDATE;

It's only deleted files from the first partition which is an image taken of the second partition that show up in the 2nd's recycle bin, not vice versa. The files can be from the OS or the data drive, same thing.

Seems to have something to do with the image from part 2 being imaged to part 1. I thought that was possible, did I miss a setting?

How are you hiding the OS from each other? What is in the MBR Details of each Boot Item?

Are you limiting Primaries?

Well, don't know what fixed it, me deleting entries in the 1st part's boot menu and having to fix it with the Windows CD, or me hiding both partitions in Part Work. :?

Would still like to know if there's anything I need to do when imaging one partition to another. Like taking an image of part 2 and applying to part 1.

mashedmitten,

I might be able to help you if you answer my questions.

Sorry Brian, bought the software last Fri. and spent all weekend getting a multi-boot system going. I'd rather do it the hard way and get it by trial and error, you learn a lot more about things that way than just following step by steps.

Anyway, I was just letting BIBM hide them on it's own when I selected a partition. Yesterday I chose to hide them both in Partition Work, but at the same time I did a stupid thing and deleted the wrong entry in the boot menu for the first partition so I had to fix it with the W7 install CD (Rule 1 troubleshooting, ONE variable at a time. :x Thus, I don't know which tweak actually fixed it but now nothing from one partition can be seen from the other. I'm familiar with multi-booting with true hidden partitions, I did it with GAG back in XP days. I just don't know how BIBM handles it.

I'm guessing this isn't an IFW/D issue, but rather a BIBM one where the MBR got stuffed when I imaged partition two to partition one without something checked or I didn't have the partitions hidden correctly in Partition Work.

Any insight is appreciated. 8-)

mashedmitten,

Thanks. But you shouldn't be hiding partitions in Partition Work. You should be using Boot Edit.

On the BIBM desktop click Boot Edit. Select a Menu Item and click Edit. In MBR Details on the right, what are the partitions in HD 0? Does the word Hide appear to the left of any?

Do the same for the other Menu Item. Please let us know what you see.

Ok, un-hid in PW and hid in BE. Now, each say hidden. Both partitions show the correct disk (0) and are associated with the correct partition #s on the drive.

It's looking like the 1st partition's MBR got mangled when I took the 2nd partition's image and applied it to the first.
