No useable Hard Drive

Postby Ed Smith » Wed Nov 23, 2011 11:29 am

Just got another computer. It's a HP TouchSmart 520 PC. One those with the
touch screen.

Using IFD (GUI) 2.66 that is in Bare Metal 1.05.

Have tried 3 different USB enclosures and when it gets to select the drive
to backup to, it starts it's 10 second search and immediately the mouse
don't work. It comes up with the message about not finding a useable drive
and to try again in a few seconds and an OK button. You can't click on OK
nor at this point does the keyboard work. Mouse and keyboard are both
wireless.

Have to then use the power button to shut down.

I have tried with the external drive connected and not connected at boot.

Any suggestions ?

Thanks,
Ed.

Since I posted the problem, I tried IFL 2.66 and all worked out just fine.
There was 30 GB of stuff on the OS partition and it completed successfully.

I did notice that in IFD it showed that partition as (02) but in IFL it
shows as (01).
Don't know if that matters or not.

Wishing everyone a great Thanksgiving,
Ed.
