My test computer has 2 SSD. Drive Details....

240 GB... Bit 14 Deterministic Behavior - Not Supported

120 GB... Bit 14 Deterministic Behavior - Supported

The Non Supported one doesn't have "Write Changed Sectors Only" in the GUI Restore Options.
The Supported one does have "Write Changed Sectors Only" in the GUI Restore Options.

This makes sense. The one that doesn't support DRAT doesn't have "Write Changed Sectors Only" in the GUI Restore Options. However, Giulia did the restores from IFW and IFL GUIs and "Write Changed Sectors Only" was present in the GUI Restore Options. So I would have expected the SSDs to support DRAT. Is this true or not? Sorry to keep asking the same question but I still don't understand.

i told you , write changed secotrs only doesn't work , it's supported , enabled at the reboot it crashes
and about drat ,i guess it's no related to drat only , there is a software that uses the same way to restore only the delta ,like image for windows and linux and it works with any drives i tested

if it can't talk to the drive it would still be enabled, getting the data
from the drive isn't available for in all environments, and it's ata
specific. with the next version if it can't talk to the drive it won't be
available, users will have to use /wcoa to force it to enable those drives
on alternate bus.

DRAT would be the requirement. /wco works exactly the same as a full
restore, but instead of writing sectors, it first reads those same sectors,
compares for differences and only writes if they are different.

Thank you. I now understand how it works.

I just tried IFL 2.99-0 and my GUI options (Write Changed Sectors Only) are the same as before, but that's how they should be.

Bit 14? Is that available in the tbos gethdinfo script function? I so, which field. If not, what function.

SanDisk SSDs. The Windows software is SanDisk SSD Dashboard and that data is in the Drive Details section. I have a couple of Intel SSDs but Intel's software doesn't list similar details.

This will be reversed, the default will go back to normal for non ata drives
since NVMe already requires deterministic reads (0's, 1's or prior data), as
well as SCSI SBC will be deterministic until written (becoming mapped) or
another unmap done on the same sector (only would occur if data no longer
allocated/needed). But offer /wcoa to default to false.

My Intel SSDs actually do have Drive Details information....
