Hi,

I am trying to boot my Netbook with an IfL boot stick that I
successfully used earlier today.

On the 6th line of dots after loading initrmfs.gz, the cursor just
sits there blinking. Cannot make any other progress, please advise.

I used makedisk to create the USB media, but it do not work. Tried a
couple of options.

Many a strange booting problem (when loading Linux from a USB stick)
can be solved by ensuring the 'stick is formatted FAT 16 - the one
being used is.

Managed to create a working stick by using
Universal-USB-Installer-1.8.5.6 and selecting 'Try Unlisted Linux ISO
(Old Syslinux)'. I keep a selection of these USB booting utils as not
all work 100%.
