When I try BCD Edit for my Win7 boot partition I get the Error Message “No BCD Store”. What could be the reasons for this message? When typing "BDCedit" in the windows command line I do not get an error message but the following result:

Why can this BCD not be accessed by BING?

You may have the notorious 100 MB partition where it
resides. Check that out.

I am not sure BING can check it out on a 64 bit OS either.

I know I could not use BING to resize my new laptop's C:
drive. I don't remember the message but did not take the chance.

Later on I checked BIBM and it could at least access the
drive's partitions, but by then I had already used Win 7 X64
to resize C:.

update to BIBM, you may not have SFN's enabled, and of course you have to
choose the partition that has the bcd (the boot one).

What are SFN's?

I checked the properties of every single entry in the partition list of HD-0 where my Win7 (64-Bit) resides for the existence of BCDedit. There is only a BCDedit button pertaining to my Win7 Primary Partition, which leads to the "No BCD Store" message. Where else or how should I search for a BCDedit button or for the 100MB Win7 partition, which I have not found either so far.

sigi,

Can you post a screenshot of your Disk Management? That will help us find your BCD.

Here you are. Unfortunately it is in German.
"Fehlerfrei" = error-free.
"Absturzabbild" = crash dump data.
"Auslagerungsdatei" = pagefile.

Your BCD is in the C: drive. Try a BIBM CD.

Thank you Brian. Trying BIBM would amount to leaving the BING forum for good because I would no longer be in a position to check proposals or provide BING reactions? Or are you proposing not to install BIBM but just to work from the CD?

Yes. Just from the CD.

You can belong to the BING and BIBM forums.

I entered BIBM Maintenance Mode from CD and hit upon an editable text file named BCDED.TXT (photo attached). This is certainly not the BCD I have been looking for? What is it?

I found the one I was looking for in Partition Work after selecting my Win7 boot partition and pressing the BCDedit button (cf. the second attached photo).

There are listed so many devices that I feel tempted to delete all but one. But I guess I had better leave my hands off because there might exist dependencies under the other radio buttons which would require corresponding adjustment?
