I don't have problems if I don't use the GUI IFD.

I'd say the BIOS thinks the mouse moved by the mouse sending it some packets
or perhaps a bug where they update the wrong field .. in any case BIBM is
notified of the movement and so it adjust the location the mouse cursor
shows.

OK, Terabyte, what do you say about this mouse pointer movement issue. It
shows up on my ASUS motherboard and on Mary's ACER Laptop (I wonder who
makes their MBs).

Also shows up on Image for DOS.

Here is the last reply I received from ASUS: My bolding.

Dear Valued Customer,

If the system and mouse work fine without the legacy application then there is a problem in the legacy application itself. You need to check with the vendor of that application. I checked that vendor for BING (BootIt Next Generation) and they no longer support BING and have upgraded to BIBM (BootIt Bare Metal). Contact them and see if you can get an upgrade on their software. A floating mouse pointer is a software or mouse issue and not a motherboard issue.

HighSierra,

ROTFLMAO!!!!
{NOT at you, but rather the 'shift the blame' game each side is doing on this mouse issue}

In the early days of Windows (3.0 -to- WinME) 3rd party programs, such (pass the buck blame) ran rampant, each coder blaming
the next as to why theirs didn't function correctly. When WinXP came along, things finally leveled off and we got better
coded Windows apps.

Now, decades into the PC experience and the blame each other game is once again rearing it's ugly head.
I can't blame the MoBo/BIOS folks, as the future in PC home computing is aimed more at Windows apps than our needs here.

> A floating mouse pointer is a software or mouse issue and not a motherboard issue

THAT unfortunately appears true!
NOW it'll be the mouse' fault.

Overall their reply appears to tell you several things;

a) They've done all they intend to & no more on this issue
b) It's now a TB issue to fix

I really do like everything TB has out, and often recommend their products to others. Going by a scale of 1-10, I'd rate TB
with a 9.5 (this mouse support being the negative issue).

There must be a better way to get reliable mouse support, problem is, will we ever get it?
If what TB uses is MOUSE.COM from MS, then maybe the one from MITSUMI might work better, or from another source.

Might be easier to take the easy way out & remove mouse support all together?
{You REALLY can do everything needed with ONLY the keyboard!}
Maybe TB can create a kb file detailing all keyboard keystrokes for keyboard navigation ONLY for BiNG/BIBM?
Questions/complaints about lackluster mouse support either needs fixing, or eliminate USB mouse support and be done with it!

All 'aledged hype' aside, this may all be moot if UEFI *with* Secure Boot is enabled by the MoBo manufacturers, then anything
in the boot chain may need to be "certified". Third party boot apps like GRUB, BiNG, and BIBM
may become tools of limited usefull life.

At the moment, my mouse support works fine, and woe betide anybody who
rids me of it*. I have used the keyboard in the past and HATED it. The
particular m/b that did not play nice with the preferred mouse, did so
with a trackball.
* I have surgical and military skills and will use them if somebody
deserves it LOL, .

Passing the blame sounds familiar. A number of years ago I
was having problems between Microsoft Money and my bank.

Guess what they did? Each said the other was to blame.
Don't remember what I did to eventually solve it myself.

Bruised ego's aside, if TB can't provide stable USB mouse support, then
yank it out! Fix it or pitch it!

You have to understand how it all works because the mouse support works just
fine if the BIOS does. I already gave the information on the INT's used
for mouse support through the system BIOS, all the PS/2 type mouse support
takes is using the packet information the BIOS provides to the mouse driver,
there isn't much to it. The BIOS handles the USB kb/mouse emulation
through a special mechanism provided in the USB specs just for that. It
doesn't attempt to reprogram the USB controllers for reasons given in the
past (only mass storage if option chosen in partition work (or imaging)
because BIOS support doesn't exist for mass storage or it's slow or buggy).

TeraByte,

Except when if fails to work more often than it does work.

Did ya notice Asus' response, ball's back in your court, they're done on their end.........

Since the USB mouse support is unstable at best, why not just yank it out. You DO make claim that everything CAN be done soly with the keyboard.
