Win8, UEFI BIOS and BIBM
Win8, UEFI BIOS and BIBM
Can I just install Win8 to a SSD in the usual BIBM fashion? That is by using the instructions in the "Installing Windows 7 to its Own Primary Partition (video)". I don't want GPT or an EFI System Partition.

Re: Win8, UEFI BIOS and BIBM
should be ok, I did it (not sure if I changed the BIOS to non-uefi mode), I
think it wanted to create a gpt but could ignore it ... provided their
setup still allows ignoring it, it would be no different than the normal w7
type installs.

Re: Win8, UEFI BIOS and BIBM
Thanks. I want to use BIBM to boot multiple OS from the SSD. Am I missing anything if I change the BIOS to non-uefi mode? I have very little understanding of how a UEFI BIOS interacts with BIBM.

Re: Win8, UEFI BIOS and BIBM
no. access to the device is the same, just the interface is different.

Re: Win8, UEFI BIOS and BIBM
That's good to know. But if I don't disable UEFI mode can I disable Secure Boot and still use a MBR disk with BIBM? Or would it be easier to just disable UEFI? I'd imagine we are going to see this question frequently asked in the future.
