IfD in BIBM quirk

I was just checking something in IfD (2.72) that is included with BIBM
(1.09), and I noticed a quirk.

The (IfD) file name appears during the setting up of a backup. I save
my backups in a folder structure based on the PC and the OS. I found I
could not navigate to a given folder without the IfD-generated
filename disappearing. I have never noticed this before. I would
expect the folder to be appended to the beginning of the file name.

Is this behaviour by design? If so, please could somebody advise how I
can navigate to a folder AND keep the IfD filename?

use ctrl-c before tabbing or clicking on items then ctrl-v to paste the name
back (otherwise escape to backup and enter to go forward again).

Has this always been the case? Can the behaviour be changed?

I mainly use the IfD in BIBM for restoring so cannot be sure if this
behaviour has been present for long or not..
