I have two USB flashcards and USB-HDD Verbatim with BIBM 1.07 working well.
But recently I have had a problem with another external HDD.
An attempt to install BIBM to this new USB-HDD failed because BIBM didn't see it as HDn (unlike old Verbatim).
Then I have copied BIBM and IFL partitions from Verbatim to new USB-HDD (by IFL booted from flashcard).
It booted itself well in QEMU and saw next partition:
... but on bare metal of ASUS motherboard it saw nothing after boot - neither internal HDD, nor even itself as HD0:
...but at the same time Direct boot menu saw an internal HDD as HD1:
...but no HD0 at all.
This is not hardware issue - I have later installed Grub4dos on that USB-HDD and now use multi-partition boot structure on the same motherboard and BIOS.
It was INITIO SATA-USB/eSATA controller INIC-1611L (http://www.initio.com/Html/inic-1611.html) inside that USB-HDD external box.
P.S. Recently I have successfully installed BING 1.87 there.

Re: BIBM: Case of incompatibility
they load the list differently, the dropdown stops as soon a a drive doesn't exist. I think that can be changed.
