Ventoy and BIBM

Post by paul_6 »

Hi,
PC is MBR
I have installed Ventoy 1.046 on an internal HDD with the provided tool: Ventoy2Disk.exe
I restart the PC, F11 to choose the disk I want to boot from >>ok :I arrive on the Ventoy menu.
But if I want to boot from that same disk inside BIBM, it does not work. I get the message: 'The boot sector does not support its location on the hard drive'.
An explanation perhaps ?!
Thanks, Paul Brussels Belgium

You'd need to capture the sector and email it to support. You can use scripting then the "copy sectors" command "help copy sectors" for format. To find the lba use "list hd n" where n is the HD number starting at 0, when you see it in the list note the ID then use "list part" command as in "list part n 0xid" where n is the hd you found it on and id is the id listed. Now you can use copy sectors "copy sectors n startlba 1 ventoybs.bin" then "exit" to exit scripting. Send the ventoybs.bin file. (if you can't access it, you can stay in scripting use the "mount" command to mount one of your normal partitions then copy it their with the "copy" command. e.g. if you had partition 2 on hd 0 you could "mount 0: 0 2" then "copy ventoybs.bin 0:" then "umount 0:" (or run tbexplo.tbs and use that scripts file manager to mound an copy).

i don't use it, you would just use the script option in BIBM to capture the sector and email it for review. We may be able to add a workaround for it.
