Thanks skipro, I get it now.

MBR 1 is the Win7 partition. I suggest downloading and installing "TreeSize Free" into Win7. Launch as Administrator. It will show all hidden files and folders. I hope it lets you see the problem data.

I used an app similar to TreeSize Free which showed no knew info. The space used is invisible to everything. I hold true to my theory until someone can give even a weak but plausible suggestion.
It would be nice to hear from TU with their thoughts.

I was going to copy MBR 1 to another HD but the primary HD is in a laptop so I have to copy via USB. BIBM sees the USB HD but then freezes, so I cannot copy. I cannot get it to see it in BIOS mode on that computer as I can do with other computers. Therefore I can not test my theory without removing HD from laptop. Too lazy to be bothered as it is not a necessity, just a curiosity.

So $Recycle.Bin and System Volume Information were empty?
