mouse not working on BIU

I installed it on a PC, but the mouse isn't working. Periodically the mouse pointer jumps from one location to another, but otherwise it's unusable. It's a Logitech M510, and I confirmed that the batteries are good. I installed it on another PC with the same mouse model to see if that one works, and it does. Any ideas?

Perhaps updating the firmware on the system will fix it. That is what
controls / reports the mouse movement.

Before updating the computer firmware (which at times unfortunately has the potential to cause other problems), I would suggest you first uninstall/reinstall any drivers specific to your mouse. Maybe installing BIU on your first machine happened at a specific time which accidentally overwrote some critical code that affects the behavior of your mouse.

Also, in case you haven't tried all of the mouse-specific fixes, here's a good list to check: www_drivereasy_com/knowledge/how-to-fix-your-logitech-wireless-mouse-stops-working/

Any OS drivers are surely not operative before the OS boots?

Okay, thanks. Unfortunately, this UEFI rev is the latest, and it's from 2014, so I'm probably just out of luck. I don't really need BUI, it's more a curiosity.

The mouse works in the PC setup, and it works in the Win10 boot loader before Windows. Isn't all that loading before the OS? I thought the UEFI boot loader was entirely pre-OS.

I suggest you try an inexpensive USB mouse. They often work in this situation. Otherwise...

No, it's not the same. If the makers follow UEFI specs and implement
support for the various devices, it will work. BIU works through UEFI, it
doesn't go around it and directly access ports, although it could, doing so
would conflict with UEFI in general.

Unfortunately I have the same issue on one of my computers. I have tested 3 different types of mice. The key combination SHIFT-TAB also does not work, it works as TAB. That makes using the keyboard even more cumbersome. I have tested 2 different types of keyboards. I have installed the latest firmware from 2015. It happens with BIU on a CD and when BIU is installed. The BIBM CD works fine.
If it is possible to add on option to directly access the ports, I would appreciate that. Unfortunately this is my only machine that has to be UEFI because of a large boot disk.

My trackpad mouse works when booting from a BIU makedisk USB thumbdrive but not when booting to the BIU install on the HD. Go figure.
