Resize Linux OS partition smaller

Post by Brian K »

We know this causes a non booting OS on a GPT disk.

My cloned Mint 19.1 was severely resized smaller, almost to the limit of the data. This was done in IFL PartWork. Immediately after the resize open a Terminal in IFL and enter (for me)...

e2fsck -vfy /dev/nvme1n1p20

The cloned partition booted. Nothing else is needed.

In my MBR computer I resized a Linux OS partition smaller, with BIBM.

Same problem as above. A non booting OS. Fixed with e2fsck.
