Multi boot win 7 on a single SSD

Post by relidan »

I tried to install
on one SSD multiboot win7 (windows 7, windows 7, windows 7 ...... etc), but I get the message: BOOTMGR is missing.Press Ctrl Alt Del to restart
I'm at the beginner level, I recently purchased the entire BootIt Collection and the TeraByte Drive Image Backup and Restore Suite. Can somebody help me?

I have an SSD, I installed win7 (A),
I used BootIt Bare Metal v1.52 and
I tried to copy win7 (A),
using BootIt® Bare Metal v1.52, in the new partition to install WIN7 (B).
But when I want to boot partition B (win7), it does not work.
I get the message 'BOOTMGR is missing.Press Ctrl Alt Del to restart'. First partition Win 7 (A) boot is ok.
I hope you have understood me

Do you have a 100 MiB partition on the SSD? A System Reserved Partition.

What is in the Boot Item for your working Win7? Which partitions?

In Partition Work select your first Win7 partition (the one that works) and click BCD Edit. Do you now see a BCD Edit window or do you get an Error message?

How many Win7 do you plan to have?

How did you create Win7 (B)? Did you Copy/Paste Win7 (A) in Partition Work or did you install Win7 (B) from Boot Media?

Your booting files are in this partition. I suggest you delete Win7 (B) and use this method to have booting files in Win7 (A)...

https://www.terabyteunlimited.com/kb/article.php?id=409

Then Win7 (A) can be copied as many times as you like and each copy will boot.

Brian's link will fix the problem. I have used it myself on occasion.

The way to stop it happening, and I do this for *all* Windows installs
is to create the partition in BIBM *before* installing Windows, viz do
NOT allow the installer to partition anything.
