Hi,

I just replaced the SSD in my Dell Inspiron 13" laptop. The SSD is a 500GB Samsung EVO SSD. Everything works, and I have 3 partitions on the SSD:

C: Windows
D: SWAP (not used yet)
E: DATA
Unallocated (about 170GB?)

Then, I tried to use the Samsung "Magician" software and set the over-provisioning, which showed like 10% recommended (about 47GB).

However, then when I rebooted, I got a popup frim BIBM saying that there were errors and overlapping partitions, and looking at it in Partition Works, the D: and E: partitions showed "E".

I did this several times, starting with a clean SSD (deleted all the partitions except for BIBM), and kept getting the same problem.

Has anyone seen this before?

I am a bit confused about why this is happening.

Those would be the partitions overlapping each other or end of the drive.

you have to look at the lba information to see what happened. I'd suggest
ensuring all partitions are in the MBR if you're going to run something that
is going to change things.

Jim,

You have plenty of Free Space, inside and outside of partitions. This functions as "over-provisioning" space so you don't need to create more with Samsung Magician.

Edit... My Samsung EVO M.2 SSD has 14 partitions. (GPT disk) The Samsung Magician partitioning rectangle bears no relation to reality. I would not trust it.
