USB mouse does not work on some motherboards in BIU.
Checked on ASUS P8H77-V and ASUS P8Q77-M.
In BIBM USB mouse works.

Re: BootIt UEFI and USB mouse
UEFI needs to provide an interface to the mouse for BIU to use it. They may
not have implemented to interface in UEFI.

Is this an excuse?
The mouse works fine in UEFI.

Re: BootIt UEFI and USB mouse
Just because it works in the BIOS interface doesn't mean they implemented
the interface needed. That's where BIU will find the mouse. If the UEFI
provides the industry standard interface BIU uses, it will work, if they
don't it won't.

Re: BootIt UEFI and USB mouse
ОK. Then another question.
Can I do something in EFI SHELL?
For example, loading the driver or something else .. and go back to BIU .. and the mouse will work ...
Or this cannot be fixed?

There are similar issues in BIBM. It is not down to TBU to fix it as
they work to industry standards. It is the motherboard companies who
are guilty. Often a cheaper, cabled mouse can work where your usual
one will not. For example, for some reason, this $150 keyboard does
not work during some Linux installs, so I have an old one next to me
that I use just for that purpose.
It's a real PITA, but it is not TBU's fault and it is not an excuse.

Re: BootIt UEFI and USB mouse
Okay.
But there must be a way to fix this.
PS/2 mouse is working.
Maybe I need to install the USB driver via the EFI Shell?

There is! But it is up to the motherboard manufacturer/BIOS/UEFI
programmer and not TBU.

Re: BootIt UEFI and USB mouse
BIU will looks for up to two mice and you can use either. But if UEFI isn't
providing the mouse interface to the USB one, then it will be up to the
maintainers to add support for it.

I understood.
I ask the second time. Can I fix it myself using other software?
Can help RU.EFI ?
Thank you for your patience.
