BIBM on flash drive: gpt disk questions

I used makedisk to put BIBM on a flash drive and then removed the news.hlp file. In a previous thread support indicated this would make the flash drive an installed version of BIBM.

Setup: UEFI/GPT computer. Boot from (UEFI or MBR, I think I've done both) flash drive BIBM.

Questions(in order of interest):

1) If I have two NTFS partitions of the same size on the GPT disk, I am able to copy from the first, but unable to paste to the second. Is this expected behavior?

2) If I try to launch Image for DOS from the main BIBM screen, I get nothing or an error message. Is this expected behavior?

3) When BIBM is launched from the flash drive, the first thing to happen is a question about installing BIBM. Is this expected behavior?

Background: I am looking for a partition/backup/cloning framework for some UEFI boxes, but don't really care too much about entire partition backup. I really like BIBM for MBR, so it is one of the contenders. If gdisk wasn't such a pain, I'd just use linux and dd.

Duh. I'd forgotten this.

As I said, I'm mainly interested in partitioning/cloning, so I don't really care whether it works or not.

The error message is ERR 103 and then it hangs after pressing any key so a hard reset is needed. bootitbm.ini gets trashed on the flash drive. This box does have other peculiarities, a USB mouse that works on other BIBM installations does not work here. But the keyboard navigation works really well - although the right hand side of the boot menu dialog(filling drive slots) is a little hard to figure out(but this too is FYI, as I'm not going to boot anything).

Yeah, that is how I originally created it, but bootitbm.ini was overwritten from question #2 above. Info for others: to start in partition mode insert "StartAt=2" under [Options] in bootitbm.ini.

...

Thanks for the help. I will use BIBM for partitioning/cloning on UEFI/GPT systems.

those type of ERRxxx are when things required can't be loaded from the
media. So perhaps the file system isn't clean or the BIOS isn't working
correctly.
